Alpine Bible Church had its beginning in the spring of 1998 when a small group of us felt the leading of God to form a church for the sake of his name. We believed by faith that God would bless our faithfulness to Him and, through His Spirit, enable us to build a ministry for His glory.

Following several weeks of developing a fresh statement of faith and praying for God’s continued blessing, we met in area homes, began contributing our resources, and selected leaders from among us whom we believed met the criteria of Acts 6:3, that is, “men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom.” These men became temporary leaders until Pastor Byron was called to serve. The church took the name, Alpine Bible Church, wanting to identify with the surrounding culture and holding high our desire to be led by the Holy Scriptures.

When we began to grow, we met in the gymnasium of Garaway High School. By 2006, God had blessed us with a piece of property just outside of town and we completed the construction of our current building. Along the way, God united the hearts of Alpine and Steppin Out Missions in a special way to give us a robust vision for missions. Through this relationship and other means the Lord has given us opportunities for kingdom impact in our area and throughout the world.

In his kindness, God has confirmed that our existence is not by our own doing, but rather by the divine leading of the Holy Spirit. The mission statement we follow is, “To Know Christ Jesus Together and to Make Him Known.”  By God's grace, may this always be true of our church.
